PRIORITIES MATTER TO REACH YOUR HEALTH AND FITNESS GOALS
If health and fitness is not one of your top 5 priorities your chances for success just went down considerably. I’ve been doing this for 29 years and still work at it. You can only do so much in a day and if you want to get your workout in, it has to be a priority. Likewise, if you want to eat better, it has to be a priority.
It is going to required some modifications in your normal routine. Your mind will probably fight you because it does not like change, especially if it involves work. Don't give it, because the reality is an average workout is about an hour and food preparation maybe 15 minutes. So, you are looking at about an hour and 15 minutes a day to get fit, not much time at all. Yet, most people will not surrender to this simple plan for a healthy life. Instead, they look for that magic diet or that revolutionary piece of equipment to solve their fitness concerns.
I have had clients ask my about many diets, supplements and equipment. My response is usually same: the best diet is the one you can follow for the rest of life that includes all the food groups, is low in sodium, sugar and saturated fat, but high in fiber; the best equipment are the ones you will use regularly.
If you take this approach one day at a time, you will find it isn’t as hard as your mind made it out be. After all, no one has ever told me they regretted exercising or eating vegetables.
